How Queries Work

Learn how Kouro's monthly query allowance is consumed in practice.

What is a query?

A query equals one "search action" — committing a filter set (trade type, period, HS code, countries, ports) and fetching results.

30-minute aggregation window

Re-running the same filter within 30 minutes does not consume an additional query. Tab switches and chart-type changes are also free.

Example

Searching "2024-01 to 2024-12 / HS8703 (automobiles) / Exports to US" counts as 1 query. Switching granularity from month to year within 30 minutes adds nothing.

What counts vs. what doesn't

Counts

  • Committing a new filter set
  • Changing the period
  • Changing HS codes, countries, or ports

Doesn't count

  • Switching tabs (trend ↔ composition ↔ compare)
  • Changing chart type
  • Changing granularity (month ↔ year)
  • Pagination
  • Browser refresh (same filter within 30 minutes)
  • Re-opening a saved search (same filter within 30 minutes)

Reset timing

Usage resets on the 1st of each month at 00:00 JST. Plan changes mid-month apply the new limit immediately.

When you hit the limit

An upgrade prompt appears. You can either upgrade your plan or wait for the monthly reset.
