Kouro Launch — Search 130M Japan Customs Records in the Browser
5/13/2026Kouro Team
We've launched Kouro, a SaaS for analyzing Japan customs trade statistics in the browser.
Data scope
| Type | Volume |
|---|---|
| Import/export detail rows | ~130M (1988–present) |
| HS codes | 1,050+ (2-digit chapters to 9-digit statistical lines) |
| Countries & regions | 200+ |
| Customs offices | 146 |
| Update cadence | Monthly (preliminary → final → import final, 3 stages) |
The single source of truth is the Japanese MOF customs portal. Kouro syncs the previous business day's release every morning at 10:00 JST.
Sample queries
- "HS 8703 (passenger cars) exports to the US, monthly, last 3 years"
- "HS 271012190 (naphtha) import sources and unit price"
- "Vehicle exports through Nagoya customs, stacked by destination country"
What used to take 30+ minutes in MOF's PDFs or e-Stat is now reproducible from a single URL on Kouro, with CSV / Excel / PDF export.
